I've been loving big plasma screens showing stuff since they installed them at the Tesco I used to work at.. OK they displayed POS ( But it opened my eyes to real world data visualization ).
And nothing connects data with people better than some kind of visual stimuli.. so here's my random collection ( I plan to add to this list ) of cool visual interfaces /displays - they have to be on big shinny screens for all to see, pref hanging from up high.. sigh... ) in no particulate order.
Real Time Data visualization
Last FM

What they say...(Adrian Woodhead)
The setup shown above is great for being able to look up and get a quick feel for the current state of our systems. Blinking red and graphs with huge spikes are rarely a good thing. In addition to these displays we also have a number of alerts (e-mail, sms, irccat) that get triggered if things go wrong while we are away from the screens (yes, it does happen). There is nothing quite like the joy of being woken up in the early hours of the morning with a barrage of text messages containing the details of each and every machine that has unexpectedly crashed.
Virgin Radio (Soon to re branded) -Visual Display of Quant Information

For about 2 years we geeks in Digital Media have had a big LCD television mounted on the wall showing statistics about the website. Whenever a client or colleague wandered down to the Digital Media end of the 1st floor they would be transfixed by the live river of items that would flow onto the screen. It’s something that if you weren’t careful you could loose hours of your life just staring gormlessly as our VIPs replied to blogs, shouted at each other, became friends, and so on.
TFL
Automated Underground - status information screens

I couldn't find much information about these which surprised me seeing as they are installed at pretty much every TFL station in greater London. The content is fed from the TFL status servers and update pretty regally, you can grab the data yourself if you know how.
I'm looking to expand this list so if anyone knows of any other cool visualization screens in their or other offices add a comment or email me.
And I will add it too the list.
